About TSRI

We are a volunteer run nonprofit organization and are devoted to spreading information and solutions. Our main goal is to come up with better ways to utilize available information resources and to encourage innovative solutions. Our website is our way of interacting with individuals and business all over the world but we mainly focus our attention on our local community in Berkeley, California. We hope to bring attention to projects and to offer a collection of solutions to today's and future problems in as many ways as possible.

Our goals are your goals

Being completely volunteer means our goals are those of our organizers and volunteers.

Our current focus is to increase awareness of the solutions that exist, today, and facilitate the creation of new solutions. The internet has pushed information access beyond our wildest dreams. And, today, the problem we face is distilling the available information into useful resources and sharing what we learned in the process. To further these goal, we highlight projects around the world and work to develop local projects that allow us to create solutions.

Our Principles

  • Value human potential
  • Facilitate progress wherever possible
  • Give back and foster innovation in communities
  • Intellectual property generates the most potential when it available to everyone

Giving back to those who came before us.

Our goals align and extend from the resources of many others before us. Notably the open source community, open content communities, vast numbers of individuals, and organizations that have embraced these same ideals; We believe an important goal is to give back and devote a percentage of any profit made off utilizing these openly available solutions is used to further the development of future solutions. We ask that anyone using freely available resources in a profitable manner give back to the community that developed these resources. Either through donations, by funding open source/content projects - including those that may benefit your own goals, or by offering your own completed works as example resources for the public at large.

Openness means no restrictions

We know that many people have differing views on all issues and merely want to encourage giving back in the most open way possible. We encourage the use of Free (GNU Licenses) and Open Source licenses, as well as offering works to the public domain for future users and creators to have the greatest opportunities possible. Be innovative and give your own contributions back to the community.
