This Privacy Policy sets forth the standards that Terra Sphere Research Inc. ("TSRI") follows with regard to all information obtained from or provided by visitors to websites operated by TSRI. It also covers all interactions with our information services, or otherwise communicate with us or work with our systems, hereafter referred to in this Privacy Policy as "Users".
Consent
When Users visit or use TSRI's websites or information services, they are using a service provided by TSRI and therefore agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy covers only activities connected directly to TSRI's websites. Other sites, including TSRI projects, linked to or third-party sites or services found on TSRI project sites, may have their own policies, which TSRI does not control and are not covered by this Privacy Policy.
Information collected
Information collection about Users is only used in order to serve you and provide optimal information services and Internet resources.
The following list includes the different types of information the TSRI collects:
(A) Personal Information
"Personal Information" is information that would allow someone to identify or otherwise contact Users, including, for example, a User's name, organization, address, and email address. Personal Information does not include aggregated information or information about Users that, by itself, does not permit the identification of individual persons. For example, statistics about how many persons visited our websites over a month is not Personal Information.
(B) Nonpersonally Identifiable Information
"Nonpersonally Identifiable Information" is anonymous information about Users that does not include Users' names or associated personal information. Examples of such aggregated data would be IP addresses, browser types, and access times. We may use this information to optimize TSRI's websites for Users and may not include or refer to Personal Information, such as Users' email addresses, when using this type of data.
(C) Aggregated Information
"Aggregated Information" refers to information TSRI gathers by aggregating Nonpersonally Identifiable Information to provide report summaries on the use our websites. The TSRI uses Aggregated Information to conduct usage analysis and to determine necessary upgrades or other modifications. Such Information is never linked to Users' Personal Information.
Personal information we may collect
TSRI may collect Personal Information from the following activities:
- sign up as members on our websites to use our information services;
- make changes to their member profile information; or
- send messages, comments, fill out forms, or via other communication via email or web servers.
When Users apply for membership or to use our website services, they must provide TSRI with Personal Information such as the name and title of a contact person, organization name, address, telephone number, fax number, and email address, and authorizations to conduct various services.
When Users sign up as members to information services, TSRI asks for Personal Information, such as email addresses, to allow TSRI to create Users' accounts, respond to Users' questions, or contact Users regarding their accounts.
Various standard technologies such as "cookies" may be utilized to provide interactive services. Cookies are small pieces of information stored on a User's hard drive and not on TSRI's websites. Cookies allow Users to remain logged on without entering Users' login details each time Users returns to our websites. Cookies also allow TSRI to analyze the usage of our websites, which allows TSRI to determine utilization levels and potential user experience issues. Users may find some or all of our websites' functionality severely limited if the user disallows cookies.
TSRI's use of personal information
TSRI only works with Users' Personal Information to provide information services, conduct private communication, to create a secure and personalized service for its Users, and to provide them updates when previous consent has been given. Users may opt out of receiving mailings from TSRI at any time by following the instructions at the bottom of emails.
Section 4. Disclosure of personal information
TSRI shall not disclose Users' Personal Information to third parties without Users' permission. This means TSRI does not sell Users' email addresses or other Personal Information to anyone and does not employ ads on our websites. If law enforcement or judicial authorities require TSRI to provide Personal Information concerning any Users, TSRI must cooperate with the authorities if their requirement is supported with the necessary legal documentation.
Choices regarding collection, use, and disclosure of personal information
Users may limit the collection and use of different elements of their Personal Information by not participating in activities requiring such collection or by choosing to discontinue their use of the TSRI's websites.
Third parties, including those linked to on our website, are not covered by this privacy policy. We encourage all users to question and guard their personal information by using their discretion and good judgment.
Correcting, updating, and deleting personal information
Users can access and update their membership profile information by logging on to TSRI's websites and selecting the EDIT function. Users may choose to have their Personal Information deleted by contacting TSRI via email or through our contact page.
Section 8. Security procedures
TSRI implements standard security measures to protect Users' information from loss, misuse, and alteration. These industry-standard practices, such as encrypted storage and password protection systems, safeguard your confidentiality Personal Information.
Privacy protection for children
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, TSRI shall not knowingly permit persons under the age of 13 to provide Personal Information to TSRI through websites or otherwise. If TSRI later learns that any User is under the age of 13, TSRI shall take appropriate steps to remove that User's information from the database and restrict that User's access to our websites.
Notification of changes
If TSRI decides to use Users' Personal Information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, you will receive a notification via email of the changes. Users may choose whether or not TSRI may use such information in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect Users' information already stored in its database, Users are required to consent to updates before being able to use our services. TSRI may post such notice on our website "News" section and may also email Users who have opted to receive communications concerning our website services, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.
